OBJECTIVE

This competition seeks to find artists from around the world and help them compete in an international setting.
The NEW YORK Regional Round OSAKA International Music Competition is dedicated to promoting arts and culture under the banner of world peace and mutual understanding.

* The New York region will include only a voice division in 2023.

Awards for NEW YORK Regional Round Semi-Final

1st Prize for each category : 100 US$/
Concert at Weil Recital Hall, Carnegie Hall (after 2024 / participation fee required)
Entitled to proceed to the Final in Osaka (no participation fee required)
2nd Prize for each category: 70 US$/
Entitled to proceed to the Final in Osaka (participation fee required)
3rd Prize for each category: 50 US$/
Entitled to proceed to the Final in Osaka (participation fee required)
Special Prizes
– NYRR Chief Executive Award: Concert at Weil Recital Hall, Carnegie Hall. (after 2024 / participation fee required)

*All travel expenses, including airfare and hotels, will be borne by the participant.

Awards Ceremony

On Monday, October 9th, 2023, at Takatsuki Arts Theatre North Building Middle Hall after the Grand Final=Gala Concert
※Result announcement takes place at the judging venue and online on the day of judging.

ELIGIBILITY

For contestants who reside outside of Japan and are unable to take part in the regional rounds in Japan, no preliminaries are required.
The New York regional round requires submission of video of a contestant’s performance.
A contestant’s performance that has been uploaded to YouTube is acceptable.

■AGE CATEGORIES
Age-J : Born between April 2, 2008 – April 1, 2011
Age-H : Born between April 2, 2005 – April 1, 2008
Age-U : Born before April 1, 2005 and either a College or a University or a postgraduate student
Age-G : Those who finished university, postgraduate and general. Those who wish to apply regardless of age categories.
Junior : Born between April 2, 2008 – April 1, 2017
Senior : Born before April 1, 2008

Video Rules

The video recording may be from any time within the past year.
Shoot the video in landscape format which means horizontally instead of vertically.
Piano accompaniment is recommended, but other instrumentals are acceptable.
Please upload your files on YouTube as public or unlisted and send us the links on the form.
The submission should consist of an unedited recording of one piece.
